EIA: why is it important? |
|
The last EIA covering activities at BCA was done in 1999 to support the application for a ‘replacement’ terminal. This EIA was done on the explicit assumption that the 1997 Planning Agreement would be in force and observed. Therefore, any seats for sale in excess of 1.5 m or any ATM's in excess of 45,000 have never been tested for environmental impact.
A runway extension, of course, would be completely beyond anything that has ever been considered for environmental impact.
