The noise maps prepared by the airport show theoretical noise not actual noise. They also average it over 16 hours even though the airport is only meant to function for 15 hours. What is probably disturbing you are incidents of distressing maximum noise. At BCA these are not limited whereas they are limited at other designated European ‘City Airports’.
