Ryanair’s projections that they will be carrying 750,000 passengers, equal to 5,000–6,000 more flights, (if they get the runway extension), nearly half of these will take off and land over East and South Belfast. Most of the rest will descend on Holywood as they come in to line up with the runway – which will be a third of a mile closer to Holywood. It would appear obvious that the Planning Service need to be aware that this escalation would:
